Eyebrow Threading
Threading, also known as “banding” is a method of hair removal using looped and twisted thread that is maneuvered by the technician’s fingers. This technique of hair removal has been used for centuries in Middle Eastern countries, such as Iran, Turkey, India & Pakistan. The technique is fast, inexpensive and does not traumatize the skin. Eyebrow threading is by far the best method to shape eyebrows and remove fine facial hair because the benefits include the following:
- inexpensive compared to other methods of hair removal
- very precise and allows specialists to have greater control over eyebrow shape
- hair grows back thinner and slower
- irritation and skin rashes are avoided because the top layer of skin is not stripped off
- great alternative for those unable to tolerate waxing due to prescriptions like Retin A, Differin AHAS, or other facial treatments
- quick process
Threading is more desired than waxing and tweezing for the following reasons:
- Wax can burn the skin.
- Pulling skin with wax can cause signs of aging because facial and eye muscles are delicate.
- Tweezing can cause ingrown hairs.
- Threading allows more control over eyebrow shape than tweezing.
- Tweezing can cause bumps or bleeding.
- Hair growth reduces significantly with threading because tweezing pulls the hair from the root. This increases blood flow to the follicle which activates the root, making it possible for two hairs to grow & for them to be thicker.
